I’m Julia-Rose
your trusted postpartum guide
Soulful certified postpartum doula, newborn care specialist and sleep consultant serving Portland and Vancouver Metro.
One constant in my life is that I have always been comfortable and enjoyed being in the caregiving role. Care is in my bones and came naturally as I nannied in my teens and through college before going on to complete several trainings in
postpartum and newborn care, breastfeeding, and sleep training. Anticipating the needs of exhausted newborn parents, lightening the load so you can take a moment for yourselves, and arming you with knowledge is rewarding to me like nothing else.
Kind words from well-loved parents
I craft bespoke service packages to meet your unique needs
Your family is unique, your support should be, too! To help you paint a picture, here’s some examples of bespoke packages that met past client’s needs.
Kim & Matt
This family had some extended family in town and a solid community of support. They wanted someone unrelated and professionally trained who could answer their questions and get non-judgmental guidance from. They wanted to be careful to not take advantage of their family’s support.
2 Visits/Week for 8 Weeks - $4,320This family was receiving workplace benefits for the first 6 weeks postpartum, and wanted guidance on baby care, breastfeeding assistance, and time for healing. They also had an overnight doula and together we provided seamless, wraparound care.
Erika & Javier
4 Visits/Week for 6 Weeks - $6,480Mark & Owen
3 Visits/Week for 16 Weeks - $12,960Mark and Owen had zero experience with newborns, so they wanted a hands-on expert to walk them through all the firsts and be a source of guidance and grounding. They were concerned about how adding a baby would affect their relationship and wanted to make intentional time for each other.

Each visit is unique to your goals, needs and desires. When I arrive, we check in so I can hear about how the night or day has been going so far, answer any questions you have, and create a priority list. Is the baby due for a bath? Do you need to make some phone calls? Has the laundry been piling up? Would an uninterrupted nap or meal be glorious? Does your toddler need your 1:1 attention for a bit to feel grounded and secure? I’ll do my best to leave with all loose ends wrapped up, so you can go about your day (or night) feeling loved and supported.

I’m always seeking opportunities for more learning and growth. Aside from over 10 years of hands-on newborn experience, my training includes formal certifications as a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist and sleep consultant as well as various additional courses in breastfeeding, working with multiples, perinatal mood disorders, pumping and bottle feeding and more. Most families secure support when entering the 2nd trimester. It’s when things start feeling more ‘real’ and I often have the availability to create your ideal schedule! However, I sometimes have space for last minute bookings and you can never prepare too early, so please reach out! If I’m not available for your due date, I’m happy to get you connected with other amazing doulas who are.

Yes! I bring many hours of lactation training and hands-on experience supporting families who want to feed their baby breastmilk or formula. I love guiding parents through this journey by helping them find a comfortable latch, learn how to establish and manage milk supply, and how partners can enhance and be an integral part of the experience. I use various tools to support, protect and maintain an effective, enjoyable breastfeeding relationship. When issues are beyond my scope of practice I have several excellent International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) that I regularly refer out to.

At this time, I don't bill insurance for clients. Fortunately, I have successfully supported families using workplace benefits! Feel free to get in touch with me to see if we can use your workplace benefits towards doula services.

I acknowledge the unpredictability of birth and the unknowns of what postpartum can look like for each family. However, due to the nature of me supporting multiple families at the same time, saving your spot in my calendar is how I ensure that I’ll be available when you need me most. I cannot guarantee that I’ll be available for last minute requests.
-
After you fill out my contact form, we will book a 1:1 call to talk in depth about your desires and needs for postpartum. This will help us work together to build a package of support that fits your family perfectly. Occasionally, if more support is needed and my schedule allows, a package can be expanded, or I can partner with additional doulas to offer wrap around care.
Plant a seed to get in touch.
